Cornelius Taylor, Jr., Pastor

Whole Life Revival Center Church

IWB  I Want Better

Cornelius V. Taylor, Jr., a native of San Francisco, California, is the proud pastor and founder of Whole Life Revival Center a non-denominational congregation of Christian believers.

He accepted the call to preach the Word of God in 1975 at the early age of 15. His father in the ministry, the late Elder Herman C. Riley, was instrumental in his ministerial growth and development.  Ordained as both a Deacon and Elder in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, he served as pastor at New St. John C.M.E., W. Atco, NJ, Taylor  Chapel C.M.E., Vallejo, CA, and Century Chapel C.M.E. in Sacramento, CA.  Each assignment was a step of progression of which he praises God for.

Pastor Taylor is a graduate of both the University of Maryland and Sonoma State University.  He is a past President of the local NAACP in  Sacramento and a Board Member of the Sacramento Urban League. He is  currently a Co-Chair in the Sacramento Valley Organizing Community, where he  is a key leader in Affordable Housing for families.

Cornelius has served his country as a member of the United States Army where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant leaving in 1990 for full time ministry. While in the military he graduated from the US Army Quartermaster Noncommissioned Officers Academy and received several awards which included: The Army Commendation Medal, The  Army Achievement Medal, The Joint Service Achievement Medal, and the Good Conduct Award.

In August 2000 Pastor Taylor concluded his tenure as a pastor and member of the C.M.E. Church because he knew God was leading him in what he calls a "new direction." With no regrets he now looks forward to a  more spirit filled journey with the Lord, minus the denominational baggage.

He is often reminded of the words of father who said, "I do not want a phony for a son." While his mother gave him this advice, “Don't try and be the best, just do your best," he says it has kept him faithful to his calling, giving all he has for the glory of the Lord Jesus without reservation.

If your looking for a sound, biblical, encouraging, and often challenging preaching, then Bishop Taylor is one you must hear.  He holds back no punches - so be ready.

Cornelius married his high school sweetheart Janie Denise Moss January 16th, 1978.  Between this union they have two sons Cornelius, III and Christiaan Denale who is an officer in the U.S. Army.  They have been blessed with four grandchildren, Jayla, Christiaan, Mila and Quincy.
